Gloomy Wood is located between the areas Katanga Canyon and Forbidden Valley, to the left of the park. For most people, the area is just a routed path to get to the other sections of the park. Even though the area is used to get to other sections of the park faster, there is more to Gloomy Wood than meets the eye; there is actually a spooky woodland walk with various spooky sound effects and animatronics. This section of Gloomy Wood is called the Haunted Hollow, which is a shortcut to the Mutiny Bay section of the park. In the central hub of Gloomy Wood, the laser-shooting dark ride, Duel: The Haunted House Strikes Back! can be found. Duel is the only true ride in the Gloomy Wood section of the park, which emphasizes the creepy atmosphere of the area.
